Snake!

Another day in Clermont.

Gram and I did some shopping again, waiting for the green-light to head to Alabama. Alas, it never came.

This lull did give me an opportunity to take some pictures of the RV I'll be living in for the next few weeks.

Pretty sweet unit - lots of space, two beds, tv (the Wii is my own personal touch), and unlike Plan C, the RV (which I have yet to name) has a fridge that runs on propane! I can't speak for Simon, but I'm pretty sure we would have boarded and captured a barge if we knew they had a propane fridge we could use. Well, Simon, the propane fridge is pretty fantastic - I'm enjoying it for both of us!

Today's excitement came in the form of a snake! This thing was pretty massive - about 4 feet long. Steve pulled it out of a tree on the lot using a broom handle.

I have a history with snakes and I have to confess that it was tough to suppress my instinct to pick it up. This wasn't a copperhead so I liked my chances of success. However, I had no idea what kind of snake it was and in my limited knowledge of snakes, I generally believe that the further south you go, the more likely any given snake will be poisonous. So, I contented myself with just touching its tail.

Gram was beside herself. She hates snakes more than that one basket-case loves double rainbows.

Not much else to report today. I've got a great idea for a new video segment, but I'm going to hold off on spilling those beans until I actually get it worked out!

You're telling me you didn't try to put that snake in a 2 liter and make it your pet? You make me ... so proud. You're all grown up now!

Can I just say how excited I am about this blog? And that, in my own head, I'm taking credit for it after our text-ersation last Sunday.

Also, have you seen the double rainbow song (the glories of auto-tune)?

Micah - I've done a lot of growing the last several years :)

Amy - You were inspirational! I hadn't seen that before - that's a pretty hilarious auto-tune!

I share Micah's sense of pride. Some people's self-destructive tendencies manifest as bad habits--yours manifest as ACTUAL SNAKES. Glad to see you survived this encounter, too.
